Actor and writer by day, Instagram superstar by night, Franco has done it again. By combining his never-ending beauty with his extraordinary talent, James Franco, from his 2010 novel, Palo Alto, has transformed the teen-angst novel into the high-school drama flick of the year. Based around a group of rebellious high school kids in an urban environment, the film explored their experiences with drugs, alcohol, sex, and violence.

Aside from being a cracking novel and one of the most anticipated films of the year, Palo Alto also has a pretty darn good soundtrack with the likes of Mac DeMarco, Blood Orange and Devonté Hynes.
